Kurt Angle says Frankie Kazarian could have been a huge star for TNA Wrestling but they didn’t capitalize on what they had.
During a new episode of The Kurt Angle Podcast on AdFreeShows.com, Kurt Angle was discussing his run in TNA Wrestling and working with Frankie Kazarian. Asked by co-host Paul Bromwell if he thought Kazarian could have been a bigger star, Angle said TNA missed out on a good opportunity to push Kazarian even higher.
“Oh, TNA missed the boat with that kid. [laughs] I mean, he was such a good-looking kid, a great look and great wrestler,” Angle stated. “He could talk, this kid had all the talent in the world. I believe he could have been one of the top four talents in the company, it just unfortunately didn’t happen.”
Angle also spoke about working with Adam “Pacman” Jones in the company and said he really enjoyed working with the former NFL star.
“You know what? Pacman was a star at the time, I actually enjoyed being around him. He was a good dude. We had a great match with Ron Killings and Sting and myself. It was good to bring somebody like that in and do something like what we did. The crazy thing is he actually beat Sting! It was ridiculous, but the thing is Sting didn’t just lose, I was sidetracked during the match. That caused Sting to lose, but we had a lot of fun that night.”
“No I could tell you this, there are rumors sometimes and there’s the truth. That’s a complete rumor." Hear what YOUR Olympic Hero is talking about on the #TNA2007 episode at https://t.co/tOQdSbPHjn! ??? #ItsTrue pic.twitter.com/iO9ZRIMz5I

Frankie Kazarian is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling but he recently made a return to IMPACT Wrestling where he won the company’s X Division title for the fifth time. He recently spoke with WrestleZone about getting the opportunity to return and keeping the Forbidden Door open, noting it’s something he’d be open to continuing.
“I would love it to be. I’m very, very lucky that Scott D’Amore has continued to bring me in and that Tony Khan has allowed that. There’s an agreement in place. That’s very cool on both gentlemen’s parts that they see the big picture when it comes to that. If it was up to me, I’d be doing this as long as I possibly could,” Kazarian stated. “I think it’s cool. I think it keeps things fresh. Obviously, I have history with IMPACT Wrestling. I was there for a decade plus, and with AEW, I was one of the first eight talents signed under contract. I was basically in AEW before it was a thing. So I have history there too. It’s cool, and it’d be even cooler winning an X-Division belt in 2022—something else no one could have predicted.”
Kazarian also spoke about his history in the Ultimate X match; read more about how he feels like he’s got one more left in him at this link.
