Billie Starkz will make her debut in Japan later this month.
Last week, Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling announced that the “Space Jesus” will challenge Yuka Sakazaki for the Princess Of Princess Championship. On November 27th, the 17-year-old Starkz will travel to the All Rise show in Sakazaki’s first title defense since winning the championship on October 9th.
Billie Starkz recently spoke with WrestleZone’s own Ella Jay about how this opportunity came together, noting her excitement for the title match. “I got an email from Toky[o] Joshi and I thought it was fake,” she revealed. “I honestly was like, ‘Oh my God, another fake email, blah, blah, blah,’ because there’s times where I get like all these strange emails that are not real and I’m just going through deleting them. Just opened it and I scrolled through and I was like, ‘ain’t no way. This is real?'”
“So I started messaging them back, and I actually didn’t know I was going to wrestle Yuka until I think last week. They were like, ‘Oh, I think your match is going to be this.’ and I was like, ‘oh my God,’ because I had no idea who I was going to be wrestling. I just knew the time I was going to be there. I’m so excited about it.”
Starkz continued on, explaining the need to get the proper paperwork in before the launch of this dream match. “They’ve been so easy to work with, with getting my information and everything,” she said. “I was actually supposed to go a little bit sooner, but travel has been crazy and I had to go to a Consulate, and the closest one to me is Tennessee or Chicago. So, I traveled 3 hours today to go finish all my paperwork and then 3 hours back home. Then I had to make that drive next week, 3 hours there, 3 hours back home, and then get ready for all of that.”
“But I’m so excited. It’s definitely been one of my dreams that I’ve been striving for such a long time, and having the opportunity to wrestle Yuka is so crazy to me. I was like, ‘I did not expect like crazy things on my first-ever trip,’ but I’m very, very excited. I hope I put on a good show for everybody. My mom’s already trying to organize a watch party. She was like, ‘I’m going to throw a party while you’re over there. We’re going to get everybody over here. I got it on the network. We’re going to pull it up.’ And I was like, ‘okay, mom, thank you.'”
“I’m so happy. I feel like karma is treating me good right now,” she said.
