The preview, courtesy of NJPW’s website, is as follows:
Fred Yehi vs Minoru Suzuki
Powerful on the mat and punishing with his submissions, Fred Yehi has more than earned his Savageweight nickname on STRONG, but was sent back to the drawing board earlier this summer when he came up short in his STRONG Openweight Championship challenge to Fred Rosser. Now seeking to earn his way back to the top, Yehi has issued a difficult challenge to Minoru Suzuki in the King’s return to STRONG this week. A win over Suzuki would certainly propel Yehi back to title contention, but that is a much easier task said than done, as countless have found out first hand.
2nd Match: Jordan Cruz & Adrian Quest vs JR Kratos & Danny Limelight
Two more men looking to get back to the top of a championship hunt are JR Kratos and Danny Limelight. After inserting themselves into a STRONG Openweight Championship match in Las Vegas, the Team Filthy duo came up short, and will look to work their way back starting with Jordan Cruz and Adrian Quest. Quest and Limelight’s history dates back to the very early days of NJPW STRONG, and while Cruz and Kratos’ past is somewhat more recent, it isn’t oen Cruz is keen on remembering. After some severe lumps being doled out by the God of War to the young prospect in recent weeks, can this combination with Quest see the tables turned?
1st Match: Kenny King vs Che Cabrera
Last seen by NJPW fans when he won the Honor Rumble at G1 Supercard in MSG in 2019, Kenny King makes his STRONG debut this week. The K-I-N-G was a mainstay in Ring of Honor before a successful run in IMPACT Wrestling, and now finally makes a long awaited appearance on STRONG. Yet still without his first win on Saturday nights, Che Cabrera does not want to be a stepping stone.
The card is as follows:
- Minoru Suzuki vs. Fred Yehi
- Kenny King vs. Che Cabrera
- JR Kratos & Danny Limelight Jordan Cruz & Adrian Quest
WrestleZone will have coverage of the show after it airs on Saturday.
