Speedball Mike Bailey Believes Match With Trey Miguel Deserved Five Stars

The Watch List takes a look at what matches you should be watching and they come recommended by today’s professional wrestling stars.

WrestleZone recently spoke with Speedball Mike Bailey, who praised his Against All Odds match against Trey Miguel. The match was Bailey’s first defense as X-Division Champion, but it was also one that he felt like it deserved more recognition.

“My title defense against Trey Miguel, I think, is one of my favorite matches I’ve had this year. Honestly, this is one of those matches that I truly regard as the perfect match. I am extremely offended that we did not get five whole stars on it because we absolutely deserved them,” Bailey stated. “There was high-flying, and there was a lot of drama. We both showed exactly how hard it is to compete in those matches. Yeah, that match absolutely stands out to me as probably the most emblematic defense that I’ve had so far.”

Bailey also shared some of his favorite moments from the X-Division’s storied past. Two names that came up were Chris Sabin and Frankie Kazarian, the latter of which beat Bailey for the title at Bound For Glory.

“So there is a long series, and there are quite a few matches that feature in various ways. Chris Sabin and Frankie Kazarian. Chris Sabin is another person who, since joining IMPACT, and way before then, I’ve been obsessively watching his matches. Because, again, Frankie Kazarian and Chris Sabin, both of them I cannot think of anyone better who embodies what is to be X-Division. So they’ve had a long series of matches. Many singles, they’ve been part of Ultimate X’s together, and watching them together has been hugely inspiring and interesting. I think a lot of Frankie Kazarian’s SCU work is extremely interesting because he truly does wrestle a different style. He’s been doing that for a while, so a lot of his recent stuff is very SCU-focused. Man, there is so much Frankie Kazarian content on the internet.”
