NXT’s Amari Miller has apologized after her recent remarks about Sasha Banks drew criticism on social media.
Miller posted the following statement on Twitter, apologizing for the way some of her recent remarks came off on the social media platform.
I didn’t mean bad intentions with what I had said but I do want to apologize. I meant something super well and it came across horribly. I want to sincerely apologize to everyone.
I also have to understand that posting on a social media platform can sound one way to me, as I’m typing and can come across totally different but that’s lessons learned for sure. People make mistakes and people grow and that is exactly what this experience was for me.
Amari Miller recently came under fire after she claimed Ember Moon was the first and only African American NXT Women’s Champion, and she wanted to be the second. Many fans pointed out that Sasha Banks was also champion, but Miller later said that Sasha was German and black and that she said African American.
Miller later said that she’s aware of what she wrote, adding that Sasha was great and legendary. Miller briefly deleted her Twitter account this week in response to the backlash, and her remarks about Banks have since been deleted. Amari Miller signed with WWE in February 2021 and she has made appearances on NXT 2.0 and NXT Level Up.
