It was announced last night on AEW Dynamite that Kris Statlander had suffered an injury, and it has now been confirmed to be legitimate.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Kris Statlander was seen backstage at AEW Dynamite last night on crutches, and the internal fear within the company is that it will require surgery. Johnson confirms that there were plans from management to give Statlander a “major push,” so the timing couldn’t be worse.
Statlander has acknowledged the injury on social media and confirmed it’s the opposite knee from the one that was previously injured a couple of years ago, but still sent out an encouraging message that she’ll be back stronger than ever.
“Welp. One knee fixed, one to go. After the first knee injury I came back stronger and better than ever so it’s all over for you all when I come back from this one. I’m sorry to let you all done once again. I’ll be back bigger, more powerful, and more than a woman,” Kris Statlander said in a tweet.
Statlander has received a tremendous amount of support on social media following the tweet, including WWE RAW’s Bayley, who just returned from a knee injury, and offered words of encouragement to the AEW star.
“Damn. Wishing you the best recovery. You’re really good,” Bayley wrote.
Natalya also reached out with some words of encouragement:
You’ll be back soon … better and stronger than ever in no time ❤️
