Becky Lynch Confirms Separated Shoulder, Turns Babyface On 8/1 WWE RAW

During tonight’s episode of WWE Raw, Becky Lynch arrived with her arm in a sling, confirming an injury she was reported to have suffered at SummerSlam.

In a brief message to the WWE Universe, Lynch got on the microphone and said that after not knowing who she was for some time, she remembered following her match against Belair at SummerSlam. She also confirmed that she had separated her shoulder at SummerSlam, but noted that she fought through it in what were the most painful twenty minutes of her career. Eventually, Bianca Belair made her way out to the ring, and said that Lynch doesn’t only define what “The Man” means, that she is The Man. The two then embraces, solidifying Lynch’s babyface turn after nearly a full year of being a heel in the company.

Unfortunately, Lynch also confirmed an injury that Wrestling Observer Live’s Bryan Alvarez had reported earlier on Monday. “Becky Lynch took the Jaded (Glam Slam) and landed sideways, she landed on her side,” said Lynch. “Having separated my shoulder twice wrestling, I knew immediately that was not good. She started grabbing her shoulder and she was grabbing her shoulder throughout the rest of the match. We can confirm today that she did suffer a shoulder separation. I don’t know the extent of it, there are several grades of shoulder separation.” (H/t Ian Carey of the Wrestling Observer)

There are varying degrees of shoulder separation, as the recovery time can range from two to 12 weeks, if not longer.

Update being attacked by Bayley, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai on RAW, WWE said her injury was “further exacerbated” by the ambush. WWE said that as a result, Lynch was “expected to be out for several months.”
