Why, Cora, why?
On the July 12 episode of WWE NXT 2.0, Cora Jade betrayed Roxanne Perez, who was thought to be her best friend. Perez was found laid out in the parking lot after an apparent assault at the beginning of the show. In the main event, she was scheduled to challenge Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship. Jade tried to take Perez’s place, but the fan-favorite star limped out to the ring, determined to bring the fight to the champion.
The challenger was clearly far from 100%, but she persevered. She came close to scoring the upset win on a number of occasions. In the end, Jade attacked Perez from behind, stunning the WWE Universe in the process. Rose took advantage of the situation and pinned Perez for the win to retain the title.

After the match, Jade told Perez that she brought her to NXT 2.0, and she called her former friend selfish before she laid her out with a vicious assault.
The betrayal came one week after Perez and Jade defeated Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne to win the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship at NXT Great American Bash. It’s unclear how this development will impact the titles.
