Angelo Dawkins would be open to returning to WWE NXT, now known as NXT 2.0.
Dawkins, one half of the Street Profits alongside Montez Ford, won the NXT Tag Team Championship before the duo was called up to the main roster in 2019. While other stars have crossed over to NXT after their moves to RAW and SmackDown, the Street Profits have not.
In an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, when asked about potentially returning to the brand, Dawkins noted that he wouldn’t mind going back because it was a place where he spent a long time practicing and grinding.
“You know, it’s up in the air,” said Dawkins. “I don’t wanna say say never. I see a lot of teams down there that are doing some things. The Creed Brothers, got a lot of love for them, they’re from Ohio, best state in the world. I’ve seen them. Trick and Carmelo Hayes, those guys, I like them a lot. I’m a big fan of Chase U, Chase University. But yeah I wouldn’t mind going back down there. My boy Apollo’s down there, so I wouldn’t mind going back, back to the place where I used to practice all those years, grinding like man. Being there, I feel like if I went back to that arena, I could still smell the sweat that we all break.”
Dawkins went on to state that he came away from NXT with the lesson that it’s important to always be ready.
“Be ready,” said Dawkins. “You never know when that opportunity’s gonna come and how our opportunity came, it came quick, real quick.”
