Ring of Honor World Television Champion Samoa Joe was involved in one of AEW’s most controversial angles in recent memory on the April 13 episode of AEW Dynamite when Satnam Singh made his TV debut and laid the veteran out.
AEW president/CEO Tony Khan himself admitted that the debut could have been handled better, and fans continue to criticize the show-closing segments.
In an interview with Joseph Staszewski of the New York Post, Joe noted that while he agrees with Khan, he’s focused on moving forward.
“I think hemming and hawing over minor things like that are ridiculous,” said Joe. “I understand people have their opinions and feel a certain way about it, but I personally think it’s silly to sit here and continue to harp on it.”
Speaking of prioritizing the present and future, Joe is excited to face a plethora of AEW’s top stars. He noted that there are dream matches everywhere he looks because there are plenty of people he hasn’t faced yet.
“There are so many people I haven’t locked horns with yet,” Joe said. “I throw a stone, I hit somebody then I’m pretty sure you have a dream match.”
Staszewski noted that Joe named CM Punk, MJF, Will Hobbs, Keith Lee and AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page as stars he wants to compete against.
