Former WWE Superstar John Cena is lined up for another movie project.
According to Anthony D’Alessandro of Deadline, Amazon Studios just bought the rights to Officer Exchange, an action-comedy project that will star John Cena.
The project is currently in development and is being written by the team of Ben Zazove and Evan Turner.
Deadline reports that John Cena “will play Shepard ‘Shep,’ a wrecking ball of a cop who teams up with an Indian police officer to take down a diamond smuggling ring in India.”
This is a big film for Cena as he will serve as Executive Producer alongside Peacemaker producers EP Peter Safran and producer John Rickard of The Safran Company.
It appears that John Cena’s popularity in Hollywood has only risen since the release of Peacemaker on HBO Max. The 16-time WWE Champion was unable to take part in WrestleMania 38 this year due to other commitments outside of professional wrestling.
