Jake Something is just getting started.
Following his X Division title match against Trey Miguel at IMPACT Sacrifice, Jake Something reportedly became a free agent. On March 7, he confirmed the news and issued the following statement:
“I am officially a free agent,” Jake wrote on Twitter. “So here is my official statement on the subject: I’m just getting started.”
In a follow-up post, Jake wrote:
“Thank you to @IMPACTWRESTLING and @ScottDAmore for taking the chance on me, and helping me learn and grow so much. Much love to the entire locker room, a true family.”
Fightful Select first reported Jake Something was a free agent. According to the report, Jake’s contract ran out at the end of February but he still had an outstanding date on the deal, which is the X-Division title match against Trey Miguel at Sacrifice. As of now, Jake would likely be welcomed back as the two sides reportedly parted on good terms, but Sacrifice was his final scheduled appearance, at least until/if they can work out a new agreement in the future.
Jake Something first appeared on IMPACT Wrestling programming in 2018, but didn’t officially sign a contract until April 2019. He is largely known for his work teaming with Cody Deaner as “Cousin Jake” as well as a solo run as Jake Something.
Trey Miguel retained his title over Something at Sacrifice; check out full results from the event at this link.
