AEW star Serena Deeb says she always holds herself accountable.
Deeb, a former NWA Women’s World Champion, delved into her personal growth over the past few years during a recent appearance on Tuesday Wrestling Tuesday with Jonathan Hood.
“I would say I think I’ve stepped into the role of responsibility a lot over the past few years and what that means in both wrestling and life. I believe in leading by example and not with your words, so I tried to work really hard, I watch wrestling every single day, Tony, I’ve asked you a bunch of questions about WCW over the past few months, I watch wrestling every single day and I’m not exaggerating, I study it, I still practice, I train and get into the ring almost every single day. I try to take care of my body and take care of my mind.
“For me, it’s important to set an example like that, especially for younger females because it’s easy to get wrapped up and focus on, I don’t wanna say the wrong things but outward focus and over the past few years, I’ve really learned to inward focus and take inventory of myself and what am I doing well, what I haven’t done well, what I need to growth in, I try to stay really honest with myself and not have an ego, where I need growth is where I need growth and I can check myself and stay humble and make sure that I’m moving upwards. I guess just leadership.”
