Big E Langston knows what it’s like to lose his last name.
Last week, Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo made their SmackDown television debut as The Lotharios, but the duo will now only be billed using their respective first names only. The practice of WWE dropping talent’s last names is not anything new, but Big E had some fun with the situation and welcomed Angel to the club.
“Welcome to the brotherhood. Meetings are the third Wednesday of every month. Talk to @WWECesaro to coordinate what food/beverage we need you to bring,” Big E wrote.
The current WWE Champion was billed as “Big E Langston” beginning in 2009 and his name was ultimately shortened to “Big E” starting in February 2014. Angel and Humberto join Big E, (Antonio) Cesaro, (Mustafa) Ali, (Alexander) Rusev, Elias (Samson), Apollo (Crews) and many others on the list of Superstars that have lost their last names, although some have been brought back at certain points.
Big E recently spoke about his fear of chickens and discussed where this unusual phobia might have started. Read his comments on where he believes his fowl fright began at this link.
