Angelo Dawkins On The Street Profits Potentially Getting Split Up In The Draft: If It Happens, We’ll Be Ready

Since his arrival on the main roster, Angelo Dawkins has been thriving alongside Montez Ford as The Street Profits.

The duo has held both the WWE RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Championship, and they have their sights set on another title reign.

But the WWE Draft is officially underway, and this shake-up often breaks up tag teams by placing the members on separate brands. For example, MACE and T-BAR were splir up on Saturday after Night One of the draft, so it’s fair to wonder whether other teams will also get split up.

In an interview with Rick Ucchino of Sportskeeda Wrestling, Dawkins shared his thoughts on the possibility that he could get separated from Ford in the draft. While he emphasized that they still have a lot to do as a team, he also made it clear that they’re both prepared for this potential outcome. Dawkins pointed to Ford’s recent WWE SmackDown main event match against Universal Champion Roman Reigns as an example of his readiness.

“We haven’t really thought about [getting split up]” said Dawkins. “But I also know like it it were to happen, we would both be ready. I mean, ‘Tez just showed last week [against Reigns], he can handle it. I’m not shying away from it. It’ll be a fun little contest, you know what I’m saying? We’ll still support each other no matter what.”

As for his own potential success as a singles competitor, Dawkins stated that he’d be excited to showcase a “different side” of himself as a performer because he typically plays the powerhouse role in the team, so he still has a lot to bring to the table by himself.

“Given being in a tag team, and I’m really good at playing, I’m the powerhouse of the team, so not many people have seen me really move,” said Dawkins. “I don’t really need to fly because I got the flyer next to me, I got ‘Tez. So my job is just to go out there and run people over and knock them down and throw them, and all that stuff. And I let him handle the high-flying stuff.

“But yeah, if it ever happens to where we’re on different brands, I think got a different side that nobody’s ever seen of me before to show.”

If the Street Profits do end up staying together, Dawkins left no doubt that they want the smoke, whether it’s on WWE RAW or WWE SmackDown, in the aftermath of the draft.

“Wherever we go, we’re ready,” said Dawkins. “We’ve been on RAW before, and now we’re on SmackDown, so I mean either or, we’re ready for whatever. I wouldn’t say nervous because we’ve been there before, I think nerves lest the building once we debuted finally.

“Either brand is cool to me. I’m down for wherever we go. Like I said, we’ve had success on each brand that we’ve been on and that success ain’t gonna stop whether we get drafted to another brand or not. We’re still the Street Profits.”

Moving forward, anything can happen. But for now, fans will just have to wait and see how the rest of the draft unfolds.
