The meaning behind the name MSK may still be unknown, but those three letters are becoming more synonymous with NXT Tag Team Champions. Wes Lee and Nash Carter put their belts on the line against Imperium, and the former Rascals came out on top right before the brand presents TakeOver 36.
Earlier on in the 8/17 episode, fans saw WALTER standing by Marcel Bartel and Fabian Aichner, stating that tonight was about securing the win and re-establishing their style of wrestling to the world. Aichner started this mission off when the bell rang and used his strength to throw around Wes Lee, but Lee used his speed to keep on the offensive. Later on, MSK kicked the body of Aichner before sending the two men to the outside, but the champions ended up being caught for some stereo slams on the floor.
The match went through a commercial break, and WALTER ended up joining his team at ringside. MSK hit their Hot Fire Flame on Imperium, but a distraction by WALTER allowed Imperium to change the momentum. Ilja Dragunov attacked WALTER to even the odds, and his presence allowed MSK to capitalize and get the 1-2-3.

Post-match, WALTER kept attacking Dragunov before he took out both NXT Tag Team Champions. When it was all said and done, WALTER and his co-horts stood tall after he choked out his challenger one more time.
