Alongside several other superstars, Ari Sterling, formerly known as Alex Zayne, was released by WWE on August 6.
The news was first reported by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, with Sterling joining a shockingly long list of superstars, most of whom were on the NXT brand, that were let go. Sterling was a member of the WWE’s 205 Live brand, but he also made an appearance on NXT in a losing effort to Cameron Grimes.
Sterling’s match with NXT Cruiserweight Kushida will air on tonight’s episode of WWE 205 Live; the match was taped ahead of time.
