The Young Bucks Claim All Elite Wrestling Spent $50,000 To License Song For ‘Space Jam’ Entrance On Dynamite

Are you ready for this? All Elite Wrestling spent $50,000 to license a song used in the Elite’s entrance on last week’s episode of Dynamite.

The latest episode of Being The Elite saw the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers practicing their entrance for their 10-man tag team match on the July 28 episode of AEW Dynamite. The quintet took visual and audio cues from the original Space Jam film, including using “Get Ready For This” as their entrance theme. The song was released by Dutch dance group 2 Unlimited in 1991, and it was later used as the TuneSquad’s entrance theme in the movie Space Jam in 1996.

This week’s BTE saw the group practicing the entrance, and Nick Jackson revealed the price tag that licensing the song came with along with joking that it went on his expense report.

Matt: “We’re here in Charlotte, we’re going to do a little rehearsal of hopefully, a legendary entrance tonight. A song that cost $50,000.

Nick: “Guess what, it’s for my birthday. That’s why we cleared it.”

Matt: “Happy Birthday, Nick. That’s why I bought it for you, and I put it on my expense report.”

Nick went on to joke that he also had to buy two pairs of sneakers for the entrance due to one pair getting lost in the mail after ordering them from StockX.

AEW is no stranger to licensing songs for talent, as Orange Cassidy and Jon Moxley currently use licensed songs as their entrance themes. Not all attempts to get the right songs are successful, as Chris Jericho told media that AEW tried to license ‘Back In Black’ by AC/DC and said “they wouldn’t even call us back.”
