Never say never in professional wrestling, but it appears as if Kurt Angle is more than happy in retirement.
The WWE Hall of Famer recently appeared on the ‘Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling’ podcast and discussed just how retired he truly is.
“I’m in the best shape of my life but I’m not gonna wrestle. No, I’m done with that. My buddy Shaquille O’Neal just texted me the other day, he said ‘you need to come to AEW!’ and I was like, Shaq, I’m not gonna do that, my friend. Actually, I mean if I did wrestle again, it most likely would be for WWE. I’m not gonna do that, AEW was always an option but I never really considered it because I’m retired.”
Angle would admit to hearing the continuous rumors but quickly shut down any possibility of working as an in-ring competitor in AEW or anywhere else.
“I’ve heard the rumors…and that’s what they are, they’re just rumors and people like to talk and to get excited about things but unfortunately that’s not gonna happen.”
