CaZXL recently spoke with Louis Dangoor of WrestleTalk, and he reflected on his return to wrestling. The former WWE star discussed his journey with Alcoholics Anonymous, which led him back to the business he loves. But at one point, there was a chance that he could have walked away from it.
“I wasn’t sure about wrestling,” said CaZXL. “I kinda thought maybe that wasn’t for me anymore, and you know, about four months ago, I decided, you know, I woke up with a clear head and I was like, I really love wrestling. It is my first love and my passion. I was like, I gotta go back.
“I could have let my addiction stop me from doing what I really want to do…but instead I decided I was gonna come back to wrestling. And right then and there, I started taking my gym sessions very, very seriously and the end product ended up looking good.”
CaZXL admitted that before he came back to wrestling, he was worried that people wouldn’t remember him. But this fear was proven wrong when he returned at a Lariato Pro Wrestling event.
“I had a few conversations with [Doc] Gallows where I was like, I don’t even know if they know who I am,” said CaZXL. “And that changed when I walked out of the curtain and everybody was very, very happy to see me.
It felt really good, man. Felt like a lot of bad things have happened to me over the past few years, and it was nice to have a win. It was nice to put one in the column right there. But that’s not the end. I gotta keep moving on and take it day by day and I got more goals to accomplish.
