In an emotional moment for him backstage, Shorty G was asked if he actually was quitting. While he isn’t leaving WWE, the Olympian said that he’s done with the “Shorty G” character, and is unhappy being a little punching bag for other superstars. Instead, he said he’s going to be going back to something that’s known big wins and achievements before, and will be once again taking on the name of Chad Gable.
Shorty G is no longer.
It's GABLE now, CHAD GABLE. #SmackDown @WWEGable @ScrapDaddyAP pic.twitter.com/qtg9upfXKs
