While the WWE Universe is preparing for Clash of Champions: Gold Rush this month, WWE itself is busy ensuring that their next PPV happens in the ThunderDome. WWE has a lease for Orlando’s Amway center until the end of October, but their next PPV, Hell in a Cell, was scheduled for November 1. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that WWE has moved up their PPV one week in order to ensure that Hell in a Cell would be in the ThunderDome instead of a new location that requires additional setup.
The new date for Hell in a Cell this year is October 25, which will put it on the same weekend as IMPACT Wrestling’s Bound for Glory and UFC’s Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Justin Gaethje bout. It’s certainly more competition for WWE that week, but it must be worth avoiding the hassle of setting up a big show in a brand new venue.
