WWE officially announced on the RAW after SummerSlam 2019 that for the first time in four years, the King of the Ring tournament will be returning. It couldn’t have come at a better time since the roster is all stacked and the storylines for the summer have more or less wrapped up. With new stories beginning and new ones waiting to happen, it’s highly likely that the idea was brought about by Executive Director Paul Heyman.

It could be that he may be a fan of the old school ideas while fully utilizing the current roster that he has and the list of 16 competitors comprise of some of WWE’s very top male superstars. There are a mix of veterans and young blood and it’s certainly the best utilization of the roster that they’ve had in a while.

But it’s one thing to just have a throwaway KOTR tournament. It’s another to do what they used to do and give the winner a significant push and standing. Many of the all-time greats got huge career kickstarts from the KOTR such as ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Triple H, Bret Hart, Randy Savage and more.

Here are the best options to win the tournament in 2019.
