The Miz appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night to promote the latest season of his reality show on the USA Network, Miz and Mrs, as well as Sunday’s SummerSlam pay-per-view event.
Originally, Miz was slated to take on Dolph Ziggler in a singles match. However, that wasn’t actually the plan despite WWE announcing it. A week prior to the big announcement it was reported that the match was a “red herring.”
On Monday’s Raw, WWE made Goldberg vs. Ziggler official after holding a contract signing segment.
This was something that Miz talked about and played it off as he tricked Ziggler into accepting the match.
“He’s been talking a lot of smack to Goldberg. I thought I’d give the kid a chance. I figured I’ll have so many opportunities at SummerSlam and Goldberg, this might be his last.”
“I will be at SummerSlam and I will make an impact. Anything I do, it doesn’t matter if it is a match, a promo if it is just a little small thing. I guarantee I will be the talk of SummerSlam.”
