Jim Ross says Vince McMahon recently asked him to be part of a reunion show for WWE, but he ended up turning it down.
Ross and Conrad Thompson were on hand in Jacksonville for their Grilling JR Live show the night before AEW Fight For The Fallen, and Ross revealed the information during the event. Wrestlezone’s Dominic DeAngelo was on hand for the event, where Ross said he had AEW President Tony Khan’s blessing to make the WWE appearance, but he still ended up turning it down. No other details about the appearance or WWE’s plans were commented on during the show.
Ross joined All Elite Wrestling in April as a Senior Advisor and commentator; he left WWE (his third stint with the company) in March after electing not to renew his contract.
We now know the event Ross was likely talking about was the RAW Reunion show, which was advertised during tonight’s Extreme Rules broadcast. The RAW Reunion, tagged as the ‘biggest reunion ever’, will take place next week and it advertises appearances by “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon (Scott Hall), Diesel (Kevin Nash), Kurt Angle, Sgt. Slaughter, Christian, Ted DiBiase, Eric Bischoff, The Boogeyman, Jimmy Hart, Hurricane Helms, Jerry Lawler, Santino Marella and D-Von Dudley.

Wrestling legends have been featured on a number of RAW special episodes in recent years, but WWE hasn’t promoted a ‘reunion’ episode since January 19, 2015. That night’s lineup included Hogan, Flair, Sting and the The Kliq. Next week’s episode of RAW is being taped at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
