Thankfully, we have a happy ending to what was an otherwise heartbreaking story. Five-year-old Timmy Vick of Delaware, who is undergoing treatment for a brain tumor, had a package stolen from him which contained some of his most prized possessions. Those being his replica WWE championship belts.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department notes that a sports memorabilia artist, Serg More, offered to take and customize the belts into one-of-a-kind works of art. On Monday, the titles arrived on More’s porch, however, before he could retrieve them, two women swiped them after walking up to the house.
The story actually made the rounds on social media, with More pleading with the thieves to return the belts. On Wednesday morning, however, the package was returned with a note, asking for forgiveness and saying homelessness and addiction was to blame for their poor choices.
It was also said that the note included the following message, “We are so sorry for taking your stuff. Never in a million years would I have expected I would have stolen from a sick five year old… I am ashamed of what I did.”
Although the package was returned, police still want to speak with the thieves. Check out a video of the theft here:
While we are grateful that the suspects returned Timmy’s belts, we would still like to talk to them. So if you know who they are, we are counting on you to also do the right thing and call or message the Edgewood Police Department.
Police also added:
We can’t wait to see Sergio’s handy work after he completes these belts and ships them off to Timmy Vick who is patiently waiting for them!
