We have some more details to pass along regarding Luke Harper’s status with WWE. Harper requested his release from the company recently after it was made clear that there were no plans to be using him anytime soon. One report included that Vince McMahon is not a fan of Harper’s, and his contract was extended by six months after his missed time with an injury.
According to a report from Fightful, McMahon has had some long-standing issues with Harper, and no matter what happened, McMahon seemed to have already “decided to hate anything he was involved in long ago.” This is very interesting considering Harper has been a solid performer throughout his time with the company.
He was one-third of a tremendous faction alongside Eric Rowan and Bray Wyatt in The Wyatt Family. He also had a run as Intercontinental Champion and formed a dominant tag team alongside Rowan in The Bludgeon Brothers. It will be interesting to see how his future with WWE plays out in the next several months.
