The identity of Bret Hart’s assailant at last night’s WWE Hall Of Fame induction ceremony has been revealed, according to CBS New York. 26-year-old Zachary Madsen was the man who rushed Hart in the ring during his induction speech for The Hart Foundation, tackling the former WWE Champion before being swarmed by current WWE stars who came to “The Hitman’s” aid.
Those stars included Shane McMahon, Xavier Woods, Tyson Kidd, Curtis Axel, and UFC heavyweight Travis Browne. Madsen punched Hart at least once, and also injured a security guard who was trying to hold him down. He was subsequently taken to the New York Police Department’s 78th Precinct in Brooklyn and charged with two counts of assault and trespassing.
PWInsider adds that Madsen was also arrested for stalking in Lincoln, Nebraska back in January. There’s currently no word as of this writing on where that case stands. Madsen is listed as an amateur mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter on social media. He also issued out a barrage of strange Tweets during WrestleMania week on his account, @iAmMad______sen.
