Pete Dunne’s incredible 685-day run of being NXT UK Champion has come to an end, as Walter used his massive frame and ridiculous strength to take down the reigning champion and become the first superstar to take down a champion at NXT Takeover: New York.

From the start of the match, it was clear that Walter and Dunne were going to pull out all of the stops, with Dunne repeatedly going after the hands (and fingers, specifically) of Walter in an effort to stop the giant from getting in any big slaps. Walter was seemingly unphased, however, as he continued to use his incredible size and strength to his advantage, breaking out of submissions and making sure to keep the fight on his feet as much as possible. Toward the end, Dunne and Walter found themselves on the top of the turnbuckle, and as Dunne attempted to catch Walter in another submission, Walter was able to powerbomb the champion onto the mat, climb to the top of the ropes, and deliver a shocking slam that sealed Dunne’s fate.
