Women main eventing WrestleMania for the first time in history:
It’s not even been about women main eventing WrestleMania, it’s about me main eventing WrestleMania. I feel very lucky, very grateful, that – this girl that was failing P.E. at 15-years-old, has somehow become the best sports entertainer in the world. So much so, that they couldn’t deny her the main event of WrestleMania.
Charlotte Flair ‘shoehorning’ her way into her one-on-one title opportunity:
I remember somebody saying to me, ‘Oh, well, it’ll probably be Ronda vs. Charlotte at the main event of WrestleMania.’ I remember just being like, no, that’s my spot, that’s my goal, that’s what I’ve wanted to do my entire life. And I was about to get my one-on-one, singles opportunity at the championship, but of course, “Shoehorn” Charlotte came along, found her way into the match, and stole the title right from under my feet.
I think once again expected that I was going to be okay with it, that I was going to sit back and let it happen – but no way in hell. I slapped the head off her, and it was echoed around the world, and the audience responded in kind – the way I thought they would – in just sheer gratitude. ‘Thank you Becky, thank you for slapping the head off Charlotte Flair, who has been handed everything.’ And they were throwing grapes at her and Ronda – the only thing that is going to be thrown at WrestleMania is gonna be rights and lefts – by me!
