Dash Wilder: There’s A Lot Of ‘Non-Truth’ About Reports Of The Revival Asking For Their WWE Releases

Dash Wilder of The Revival recently spoke with Alex McCarthy for talkSPORT, and he was asked about recent reports that the team was unhappy, and tried to get their releases granted by WWE. Wilder went on to say that much of what reported was untrue, and while they did apply to trademark #FTR, that was for themselves and they very much want to do more in WWE’s tag team division:

“I won’t touch on it too much, but I will say there is a lot of non-truth to that. The trademark was just something that we wanted because we want merchandise and T-shirt ideas and we want to make sure no other company can use it, because it’s not just a thing we have been using, obviously [laughs]. Other people have been using it and we wanted to make sure if we were to print t-shirts or like we have it on our gear now, we have the legal rights to it. Now it’s something we have the intellectual property of. We can have it on anything we want, if there is any more merchandise there shouldn’t be any more issues with that.”

We do want more for the tag team division, 100 per cent. We do want more opportunities and we were very vocal about that. But, like I said, there were a lot of things that were reported that weren’t accurate.”

Additionally, Wilder commented on the response to their successful tag title match at WWE Fastlane, saying the match was well-received by people backstage, and it’s a positive sign for tag team wrestling in general:

“I was very happy with how that turned out and it was a match that wasn’t announced until, I want to say, Monday night? So there wasn’t a whole lot of build behind it, there wasn’t a whole lot of story behind it, but all three teams are very happy with the outcome because the crowd was there with it, the crowd was reacting, the crowd was invested and that’s what you want,” Wilder said.

“And it’s a lot harder to get that when there isn’t a much of a story going into it. So for it to turn out as well as it did and go as well as it did – because triple-threats can be very tricky, especially tag teams because there’s six guys there, seven including the ref. That’s a lot of bodies in there, a lot of movement. That can become chaos real easy and I was very happy with how we worked and controlled ourselves.”
