Brock Lesnar escaped with the WWE Universal Championship, defeating Finn Balor at the Royal Rumble event. In a true David vs. Goliath battle, Lesnar gutted through injury to defeat a relentless Balor retaining his title in the process.
Lesnar would stop Balor’s early attack, throwing him out to the ring after a flurry of suplexes. Balor would counter by shoving Lesnar ribs first into the commentary table, severely wounding the champion. Lesnar would weaken with each suplex, giving Balor an opportunity to strike “The Beast”. Diverticulitis would not fret the champion, as Lesnar would avoid defeat by quickly trapping Balor in the Kimura Lock. Balor would attempt to fight through but would tap out to the pain in Lesnar’s rare submission finish.

Lesnar would attack Balor right after the match, delivering a number of Suplexes and an F5, his way of showing respect to the challenger.
