“The New” Daniel Bryan successfully defeated AJ Styles once again to retain the WWE Championship at WWE Royal Rumble. The two longtime rivals took their feud to personal heights, with Bryan referring to Styles as corporate stooge and Styles calling Bryan moral hypocrite. The intense battle will highlight the two working each other limbs throughout the match.

The two traded off their signature submission holds and Styles would gain a significant advantage until Erick Rowan appeared down the stage. Bryan would “accidentally” kick the ref in the head as Styles grabbed him for a Styles Clash. Rowan immediately entered the ring and delivered a Claw Slam to “The Phenomenal One”, allowing for Bryan to cover Styles for the pin.

Rowan would then help Bryan attack Styles after the match, holding Styles hold while Bryan delivers a Running Knee.
