In a major development, WWE will now hold their WrestleMania weekend NXT TakeOver event on Friday instead of Saturday. Which means that the Ring of Honor G1 Supercard show at Madison Square Garden will now be running that Saturday unopposed by any major wrestling product.
WrestleVotes on Twitter broke this news saying that WWE themselves have confirmed this. NXT TakeOver: New York will now be held on that Friday, instead of the typical Saturday, which will now be slated for the WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Both of these events will be held in Brooklyn:
WWE has confirmed NXT TakeOver during WrestleMania weekend will now take place on Friday night, Hall of Fame now Saturday night. Both in Brooklyn. The NJPW MSG show is now unopposed to actual wrestling Saturday night.
Hearing that this was likely the case for next year (2020) once FOX took over. They wanted TakeOver in that Friday night spot. Unsure why the move is happening this upcoming year.

This is great news for Ring of Honor as their biggest show of all time will now be unopposed by any WWE base product. Also, good news for NXT as they don’t have to worry about sharing any fan with Ring of Honor that night.
How do you feel about this? Would you have gone to both events either way?
