The word “bizarre” is practically second nature to Goldust. The entire concept of his character was quite ahead of its time. Hyped up as androgynous, Goldust’s character had implied homosexuality in a time when it still wasn’t fully accepted by the masses. Naturally, this made him an uncomfortable character in many people’s minds, but at the same time he would go on to become a hated heel in his early years with the WWE before eventually becoming a fan favorite.
Today, Goldust is a staple part of the WWE roster and a veteran who’s been around for a long time. But it was a very different time back then and his peak in the Attitude Era was when there were no PG restrictions whatsoever. This saw WWE creative go crazy and create some uncomfortable moments and bizarre storylines involving Goldust.
Either way, it’s hard to imagine that period in wrestling without him. Very few wrestlers have had the longevity that Goldust has had and that’s what makes him a timeless character. Either way, if you weren’t around watching WWE pre and post Attitude Era, you’ll be surprised to see these bizarre moments from Goldust’s career.
